Made with love by a Cusqueño
In 2010, someone from Cusco decided to build something that didn't exist yet: a guide to the city written from the inside, by someone who knows every street in San Blas and every shortcut up to Sacsayhuamán. That's how CuscoGuía.com was born.
It started as a website. Then it made its way into the pockets of travelers and locals as an app for Android and iOS.
Since then, with Cusco Guía, we've helped more than 12 million travelers and locals find the best of Cusco: the viewpoint that isn't on the postcards, the train that's worth taking, the dish you can't miss — and so much more. See the food and drink guides →
Today that story continues, since 2020, at cusco.tips: over 1,000 guides in 5 languages, updated month by month and written with the same care as on day one. We tell you about Cusco the way we'd tell a friend or a brother who arrives tomorrow.
Who's behind cusco.tips
My name is Jaime Yáñez. I was born and raised in Cusco, and I've spent more than fifteen years helping travellers make sense of my city.
A cusqueño through and through
I grew up among the steep lanes of San Blas, the bustle of San Pedro market and the festivals that fill the Plaza de Armas every year. Cusco isn't a destination to me: it's home, with its cold mornings, strong midday sun and rainy-season afternoons.
That local's view is what I try to bring to every guide: what really works, what to avoid and the small details that make the difference when you first arrive at 3,400 metres.
Cusco by day and by night
For years I played in a rock band at the London Town bar in Cusco. Those nights showed me another city: the musicians, the small bars, the late-night taxis and the neighbourhoods worth knowing before you go out. That's why I know Cusco by night as well as by day.
